– PORT LOUIS, Mauritius

To contain the potential risks associated with the ongoing Ebola outbreak, Mauritius has temporarily banned entry to its territory for foreign nationals who have recently stayed in or transited through the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, or South Sudan.

Health authorities have strengthened controls, surveillance, and quarantine protocols at all points of entry.

Exceptions are made for holders of valid Mauritian residence permits or visas issued by the affected countries. These travelers may enter the country but must undergo a mandatory 21-day quarantine.

As a precautionary measure, the government has also proposed postponing the US-Africa Business Summit scheduled for July.
