Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is being subjected to torture and mistreatment by State Security Service (DSS) personnel, according to lawyer, Barrister Nnaemeka Ejiofor.
Ejiofor, a human rights activist, stated that a “hostile handler” has been assigned to Kanu and allegedly kicks him without provocation.
The lawyer reported an incident where the hostile handler had to be “dragged out” by other DSS operatives.
These allegations arise amid growing concerns over the separatist leader's deteriorating health while he faces terrorism charges for his advocacy of a referendum on an independent Biafra.
