Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic train derailment near Agbor, in the Ika South Local Government Area. The accident, which claimed the lives of four people, left many others injured.
The four fatalities were two adult women, one adult man, and an infant. Twenty-four passengers were injured and immediately transported to hospitals in Agbor for treatment. All passengers were located after the incident.
Governor Oborevwori directed relevant government officials to coordinate rescue and support efforts at the accident site. He commended law enforcement for their swift response and assured the affected families of the state government's support.
A thorough investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the derailment. The governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the safety of all residents.
