US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded a two-day summit in Beijing on May 15, calling the talks ‘historic’ and ‘very successful’ as part of efforts to stabilize US-China relations.
Trump announced China's agreement to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft and revealed plans for a possible White House meeting with Xi Jinping later this year.
Discussions also covered Iran, the Strait of Hormuz, trade tensions, and Taiwan were also discussed, with Xi Jinping warning against actions that could trigger conflict.
Despite the cordial diplomatic exchange, no major trade breakthroughs or binding agreements were announced, and attention is now focused on implementing the agreed commitments.
