| Police officers patrol city in Burkina Faso |
The government of Burkina Faso has dismissed four police officers following confirmed acts of corruption.
The decision was announced on Thursday after the weekly Council of Ministers meeting, presided over by President Ibrahim Traoré.
Minister of Public Service, Mathias Traoré, revealed that investigations implicated seven officials in total: a doctor, a land agent, and five police officers. While the four police officers have been immediately dismissed from service, the remaining three individuals have been referred to a disciplinary board for further action.
The official Agence d’Information du Burkina (AIB) reported that disciplinary authorities have been instructed to expedite all ongoing procedures in this case.
