The Nigeria Police Command has dismissed three officers for allegedly kidnapping and robbing a man of ₦1.7 million.

Ex-Sergeants Gift Ekwueme and Ikechukwu Eto, and ex-Corporal Divine Okwuaru are in custody and will be arraigned in court.

Police spokesperson Henry Okoye said the officers were found guilty after an orderly room trial. They allegedly posed as anti-kidnapping operatives during the February 8 incident in Imo State, southeastern region of Nigeria.

The new Commissioner of Police, Audu Garba Bosso, has warned of zero tolerance for misconduct.
