The court has found the defendant guilty of publishing photos and videos of the plaintiff on social media without her consent.

In an era where online sharing is commonplace, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) upholds stringent laws to safeguard personal privacy.

On October 16, 2025, an Abu Dhabi court ordered a man to pay Dh20,000 in compensation to a woman for violating her privacy by posting her photos and videos on social media without her consent.

The Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Claims Court found the defendant guilty after a thorough review of the case’s criminal and civil components.
