The Concerned Indigenous Youth Forum (CIYF) has accused Anambra State Governor Professor Chukwuma Soludo of protecting Fulani terrorists and unfairly blaming Igbo youth for kidnappings and other insecurity in southeastern Nigeria for political gain.

CIYF spokesperson, Comrade Lawrence Agu said Governor Soludo's administration has failed to address the rising insecurity in Anambra, particularly the activities of Fulani herdsmen, whom it holds responsible for kidnappings and attacks in rural communities.

The group, in a statement received by TORI PULSE on Friday, further alleged that instead of holding those truly responsible accountable, the governor has accused Igbo youth, particularly those linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its vigilante wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), of being behind the insecurity.

“Governor Soludo is playing with the lives of Ndi Igbo,” the statement read. “While Fulani terrorists continue to terrorize our people, the governor turns a blind eye and instead labels our innocent youth as criminals. This is a deliberate attempt to suppress the Igbo struggle for self-determination and curry favor with the federal government.”

CIYF urged the governor and security agencies to focus on arresting and prosecuting armed Fulani terrorists ravaging the southeast and other parts of Nigeria, instead of resorting to what they described as “scapegoating tactics” against Igbo youths, who they say are being killed daily by government forces.
