Survivors of what the military described as “accidental bombing” of Tudun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Tuesday said they were bombed twice by the Nigerian Army.
Amnesty International officials visited the affected communities and confirmed the the death toll from the incident has increased to 120.
The airstrike “intended to flush out terrorists” dropped on civilians during a religious celebration in Tudun Biri on Sunday evening.
The army claimed responsibility for the incident which the National Emergency Management Agency had on Monday evening put the death toll at 85, stating that 66 victims were injured.
But Tuesday's accidental attack drew fresh condemnations from the pan-Nordic political and cultural association, the Arewa Consultative Forum, and Jama'tu Nasril Islam, saying the culprits should be punished.
