At least 500 civilians have died in separate attacks in Nigeria's North-West southern Kaduna state, according to a report by stakeholders from the five local government areas.
The coordinated attacks and killings that occurred from June to September 2023 also led to property losses.
According to the report, the latest attack by jihadists resulted in the death of a young seminarian who was burned alive at the parish house of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Fadan Kamantan.
Traditional rulers and religious groups spoke at a meeting with Maj. Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar—Operation Safe Haven Commander and General Officer Commanding, GOC, 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, and pleaded for support in ending the violent attacks and killings.
