JOHANNESBURG— Police in South Africa has arrested a woman and charged her of murder after her two sons died from food poisoning.
The two teenage boys died after they allegedly ate food that was cooked by the 38-year-old woman in Tseki, Free State.
According to police report, the teens who arrived from school ate food believed to be prepared by their mother who was away from home.
TimesLIVE quoted police spokesperson Sgt Mahlomola Kareli, saying the boys where rushed to nearby hospital after they fell sick, but they died while being treated.
The mother, 38-year-old, also fell sick with same symptoms as her dead sons shortly after she returned home, said the report which added that she was also rushed to hospital.
While she was still hospitalised, police arrested her on two charges of murder.
Investigations into the circumstances of the teenagers' deaths, is ongoing, said police spokesperson.
