Amuludun 99.1 FM in Ibadan, was attacked in the early hours of Sunday May 28, 2023, authorities confirmed, saying that the assailants are Yoruba Nation Movement separatists.
The assailants invaded the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) —owned fm station in the southwest region of Nigeria, around 6pm in an attempt to seize the station.
Staff members of the radio station said the assailants invaded with weapons and charms, but nobody is confirmed hurt.
On Sunday afternoon, some staff members were reportedly missing.
Police confirmed report of the incident, and said the situation is under control around 12pm.
“We have made some arrests so far, and there is an ongoing investigation to apprehend other suspects,” police spokesperson said.
