ABUJA— Outgoing President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari said he has done his best for the country, stating that his efforts reduced poverty in the country.
Buhari stated this in his verified Twitter account on Saturday May 27, 2023.
According to him, the poverty in Nigeria would have been tougher if his administration did not invest in infrastructure which he said the stock to Gross Domestic Product have grown significantly by 20 per-cent.
He said the Nigeria's debt profile is nothing to worry about when compared to 'rising assets and investment profile.'
According to Buhari who has ruled Nigeria for eight years, despite recession, global economic downturns and plunge of oil, his administration has ensure infrastructural growth. “that is no small undertaking,” he said, adding that his administration successfully dealt with COVID-19 pandemic which he said was unforseen.
He blamed the poverty and other crisis in Nigeria, on the global effects of ongoing war in Ukraine.
In the United States, has reacted to Russia placing nuclear weapons in Belarus. Biden told journalists he feels “extremely negative” about the tactical nuclear weapons being stationed in Belarus amid the conflict in Ukraine.
Reuters reported that the comment came hours after Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus announced that Russia has already begun deployment of nuclear munitions.
Lukashenko said Russia shouldn’t worry about the safety of its weapons, noting that Belarus will be able to keep them safe.
